Hey Guys, Brooks here again. I frequently help young men who are entering the professional world establish a basic dress wardrobe. The first question without a doubt is always, “Where do I Start?” Well, the most most versatile suit is a year round grey. Grey can be dressed up or down and will serve as a foundation for your wardrobe as it grows. The next step is wearing the right shoes and belt. Black will always pair well with grey but a nice golden brown shoe can truly make your suit stand out. Of course, there are several accessories that can accompany your new suit and we can help you. Remember, you’re building an image that suits you and you’re lifestyle. So, while it’s important to lay the foundation we can help you add your own personal style. We’re here to help, so feel free to call us and set up an appointment. We’d love to help you with your look.

Hi Guys, Brooks here again. I’m frequently asked what the difference is between bespoke and custom made. The term bespoke originated in England 200 years ago. In those days a tailor had bolts of suit cloth in his shop. When a customer made a choice it was said to be “Spoken for.” This is the foundation of ┬áBespoke, Spoken For. We still use the term but the garment itself is a custom-tailored suit. Hope this clears up the confusion!

Hi Guys, Richard Brooks here, custom tailor. Thought you might like some tips on custom suits and shirts. A few key points, just like real estate… 1. Experience !! 2. Experience !! 3. Experience !! A custom tailor will recognize things about your body shape that even a tape measure is unable to gauge. Custom tailoring is an art and it learned by doing over an extended period of time. It is not taught in a classroom. Do not be afraid to ask for referrals. If he is good at what he does he should be more than happy to give you the names of people he’s worked with in the past that are happy. Brooks & Sons has been in business more than 15 years in Amarillo, Tx so please feel free to call to set up an appointment or stop by anytime.
