The Right Belt

Hi Guys, Let’s talk about belts with suits. A belt is for a pair of pants that don’t fit correctly. In a classic tailoring, a pair of pants is made to fit properly. They sit where they’re supposed to. Slide buckles on the trouser allow for minor weight fluctuations but the overall look is leaner and longer. A belt cuts the body in half. Brace buttons give the added option of wearing suspenders which projects an elegant look. Belting jeans or casual attire is popular but the suit should project a more classic look. At Brooks and Sons we can fit you with the classic look that’ll help take your look to the next level. Just give us a call and we’ll help you out.

Hi Guys, Let’s talk about shirts. Are you pleased with what you find in the department stores? Do the shirts fit you? Are the collars the style you want? Is the tail long enough? Is the body the right type for your build? Most of the time you “settle” for less than you really want. But you don’t have to because Custom is for You! Nothing spoils a man like a custom shirt. At Brooks and Sons all those details are attended specifically for you and your body type. You get to pick the fabric, the collar, the cuff, the body taper, and the tail length. It’s all about you, just the way it was meant to be. Come by and feel the difference.

Hi Guys, Richard Brooks here again, lets talk about fashion. If you’re thinking about a double breasted suit, stop. Double breasted suits make up only about 5% of the industry. It’s a cumbersome style that was very popular but is just not practical. Now, I understand what it’s like to want to separate yourself from the crowd but believe when I tell you, a double breasted suit is not the way to go. I’ve been in the industry for more than 50 years now and in the last 15 years I’ve only made two double breasted suits. Don’t do it. A single breasted, two button coat. It’s a classic, you can’t go wrong.   With the peak or notch lapel, it depends on how much of a Conor McGregor you are. Peak is a very affluent look and notch is a very safe way to build up your wardrobe. This might be a lot to absorb so just call me for any questions you might have. You get what you pay for guys, so don’t wander to far. I understand you’re trying to distinguish yourself but don’t waste your money on a double breasted suit. Call me.
