Good Afternoon Gentlemen Brooks here… So, you’re going out of town and you need to pack your suit for the trip. Here’s the best way to insure your suit travels well. Lay the suit facedown on your bed or a flat surface and fold the left shoulder back. Turn the right shoulder inside out, and tuck the left shoulder into the right. Fold the suit in half lengthwise, then fold it again horizontally. Place the folded jacket in the center of the outstretched trousers, then fold the trouser bottoms over the jacket and repeat with the top of the trousers, like tri-folding a sheet of paper. Place the suit “package” in your bag, and off you go.   Roll your necktie up and starting with the small end and tuck the roll into one of your dress shoes. This prevents creasing of the tie. At the final destination press your suit using a press cloth ( cotton handkerchief) and a steam iron! This is the method I’ve used for years and my suits have lived a long healthy life. Till next time boys.

Good Afternoon Gentlemen, Brooks here again. The Devil is in the details and the details are where a good custom clothier should shine. The suit still reigns supreme when it comes to making a good first impression and it is the clothiers responsibility to insure that your suit and accessories are correct in every way. If you purchase a suit from anyone who does not ask you why you are buying it, you can correctly assume that he does not have your best interest as his number on priority. If your clothier does not express an interest in your objectives how can he possible guide you to the right suit to do the right job? If you have questions and are looking for guidance, give me a call. I’d love to help you out.

Good Afternoon Gentlemen, Brooks here again. I once read about actor Tommy Lee Jones talking about his Savile Row Tailor and how at age 68 he felt that he deserved him. But, why wait until you are 68 to have a  custom tailor? The routine alternatives on baggy shirts and pants that a competent tailor provides will save you frustration and money at any age.   The objective counsel on fashion and fit you receive from a competent experienced tailor will insure that the money you invest in your image is not wasted on absurd fashion extremes. The most expensive clothes you own are the ones you don’t even wear because you don’t like the way they fit. That can change with one phone call.
